If you are wondering how to apply for grad school admissions, where to start, and what steps to take, please know that this process is not complicated and you can do it all by yourself using this step-by-step guide below:

1. Using Google, search for universities that offer your desired course in the country you want to study. For example, “universities in United Kingdom that offer master’s degree in public health.”
2. Visit websites of universities that pop up from your search, read through their admission requirements, take note of the deadlines for applications and when a new session begins.
3. If the school requires GRE or GMAT, IELTS or TOEFL, register and write the exams.
4. Request recommendation letters from previous lecturers. You can read my post on how to get great recommendation letters by clicking here.
5. Register and begin your application on the university’s website, complete the various sections, upload relevant documents, and submit your application.
See a checklist of documents below:

  • Degree certificate
  • Academic transcript
  • Recommendation letters
  • Proof of English proficiency, the required document depends on the university (IELTS or TOEFL or WAEC result with a good grade in English Language).
  • Academic CV (You can read my post on how to write an outstanding academic CV by clicking here)
  • Personal statement or Statement of purpose (I have a post to help you with this here)
  • GRE or GMAT (if required by the university)

I hope this helps, do share this post with someone who might need it.

See you next week!
